The Story

A show built out of sawdust and Saturdays.

GoGo grew up going with his grandfather to his grandfather's lumber yard in his tiny hometown. He and his grandfather and namesake would walk among the board bins in the wood barn, where Big Carl would teach him to recognize a good board by its grain and straightness. Decades later, GoGo realized that many of these lessons were metaphors that applied not just to lumber, but to life. The warmth of those Saturdays with his grandfather at the lumber yard is motivation for this show — a place for grandparents to gather and share about their lumber yard moments.

The Lumber Yard Moment

At the end of every episode, GoGo pauses to honor his grandfather Carl — the man who through those Saturdays at the lumber yard, first taught GoGo the importance of unhurried time and a grandparent's love. It's a tender moment for the audience to remember the people who shaped them and taught them the importance of passing something on.

Now it's time to go to the lumber yard. Go build something with your grandchildren.
